From the outside, the life holds together

Most of the people who come to me are doing fine on paper. Most have a good job, a house, the family are fed and all of the bills are up to date. Yet they might have a nagging sense underneath that something's off. That's usually where we start. Together, we'll go to the parts of a life that might be avoided, join some unconnected dots — your health, your head, the people closest to you, the hours in a day, the money, whether any of it still feels like yours. Move one thing and the rest move.

Why everything at once

A life doesn't come apart in tidy sections, and it doesn't get put right in them either. Work stress, short fuses, poor sleep, a creaking body — they're rarely separate problems. Often they're the same thing showing up in different ways, asking to be heard. Focusing on each in isolation and chasing them one at a time, in the order they shout loudest, often simply results in you mostly just moving the problem around.

The other way is to go through the middle of it all, by exploring patterns and habits. By thinking about where things come from and what truly matters to you. Step by step you might slowly start to see the whole picture again. The stress becomes more manageable, patience returns and a good night's sleep becomes a priority.

Six threads of one life. Pull on any of them and the others move — which is why we work with the whole picture, not one corner of it.

A bit about me

I spent twenty-five years in financial services, the last of them co-founding a planning firm we built up and later sold. From the outside it looked like it was all holding together. Inside, I was running — from stillness, from anyone who might hold up a mirror, from the question of what I was building and why. I lost my dad at eighteen and spent a long time afterwards staying busy enough not to feel it. It took becoming a father myself, and a stretch I couldn't outrun, to stop me.

So I went and did the looking I'd been dodging. I trained as a meditation coach, started writing, and built The Conscious Currency®, a method for the part of all this that shows up as money. In 2025 I set up Ripple Out to take it wider than money alone.

Everything I bring to this, I had to learn the hard way first. I've known both scarcity and plenty. I'm neurodivergent, and the way I do this fits how different heads actually run, rather than marching anyone down a straight line that was never going to suit them. I live in the North East and I'm a father of two.

Inside a session

The sessions are unhurried and fairly direct. I'm more interested in the pattern under a problem than the problem you walked in with, so we tend to go a layer down and stay there until something gives. It's mostly a conversation, though not only talk. Where it helps we'll use stillness, breath, or movement, because not everything that needs to shift lives in the thinking part of a person.

You set the pace and you keep the wheel. My job is to help you reach your own answers, then hold you to them — which is the part most people can't manage on their own.

What changes

People come in for different reasons but can often leave with similar things.

  • Reclaiming control of your life.
  • A fresh perspective and a clearer direction of travel.
  • Reduced noise and improved presence and appreciation of your days as they happen.
  • New ways to manage pressure and bring your nervous system down when things spike.
  • Concrete takeaways from each session to carry with you.

It's not always quick and tidy. But the aim is always to help you to reclaim a life that is yours to own.

What this isn't

Coaching isn't therapy, and it isn't regulated financial advice. I don't diagnose, I don't treat, and I won't tell you where to put your money. If what you need is one of those, I'll say so and point you to the right person. What I do is the bit underneath both: the thinking, the patterns, and the choices that run through your money and the rest of it alike.

Start a conversation

Tell me what's going on

There's no set programme and no fixed package. It begins with a conversation about where you are and what you're carrying, and you're under no obligation once it's done. Tell me a bit about what's going on, and I'll come back to you myself.

Something went wrong sending that. Please email me directly at admin@rippleout.co.uk.

It comes straight to me and goes no further. You won't be added to any mailing list.

Thank you — it's with me.

I read these myself and I'll come back to you personally, usually within a couple of days. No need to do anything else.
